Who's voice is that?

I had a hard time going to sleep last night and so I only went to bed around 1:15 am. I laid there tossing and turning and then all of a sudden I realized I had left the keys in the car with my house keys on it and the car doors unlocked. "Ooooh so what", I thought I'm sure no one is going to come take my car or come in my house, but it kept nagging me...and the voices start.....You've locked all the windows and doors and you left your keys in the car..that's pretty pointless isn't it? You also left the Christmas lights on the window sill in the living room. I did tell you before you went to bed that probably you shouldn't leave them on (I had left them on for just a little light in the living room) What if they catch on fire? Well how will they catch on fire? They shouldn't, I can leave a night light on without it catching on fire so why would they catch on fire?  Well there is one of the sets that is older wiring, doesn't have the on and off switch on the cord to plug it in. You probably shouldn't leave them on.
There is a chance you know, that someone could come into the yard and go into your car and come into the house using the keys you left there. You would regret not getting up then wouldn't you?...Is this the devil trying to get to me and make me worry? Devil you get away from me and leave me alone... Did you check on the fire? Is the draft down? On and on the voices kept at me... But I'm so tired, I don't want to get up!... You should though, if you don't you will just think about this all night and you won't get your sleep anyway.
You have another set of keys in your purse that's by the door. Just go and use the automatic door lock on your key, you won't even have to open the door, it should work from in the house. ... Yes I do! I won't have to go outdoors!...I had never even thought of that....ok I may as well do that then. So I crawl out of bed and make my way across the living room to the side door where my purse is. I find my spare set of keys after a while of digging through my purse in the half darkened room. My cat is at the door wanting to go out so I open the door and let her out and since the door is open I may as well press my button to lock the car door. Click....Oh no, was that the trunk? I just heard the trunk opening...I must have pressed the wrong button. Click, BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!!! Oh my goodness I'm going to wake my neighbors!!! I hit the alarm!!!!  Click,... now why is the lights in the car coming on?? Click.....the lights are still on....sigh  I'm still on the wrong button... that is to unlock the doors!!...Ok come on now, get the right button!!.... Click...there finally it locked and the lights are all off! I can go back to bed now, brrrrr it's freezing cold standing here in my little night gown and bare feet. Good thing I didn't have to go to the car to get the keys!!....................I turn to go.
Lee Anne?... WHAT?? .........You didn't close the trunk...Well I don't want to hear it!!!.... but it should be alright, yeah it'll be alright.... the light in the trunk comes on when the trunk is ajar.....Geesh!!! I don't want to go out there in the cold and dark!!! I whine .....  Do you want the car to be dead when you want to go somewhere in the morning?  Gosh I can't believe it!!! UGH!!!
I'm not getting dressed, there is no one around to see me, I open the door, scan the yard that's pretty lighted up by the moon and make a mad dash down the steps in my bare feet and to the car that's parked in the driveway and close the trunk and run back as fast as I can back into the house.

I fall asleep sometimes in the wee hours of the night.

Had I listened and not neglected the voice I heard that day after I went grocery shopping and came home....you left your keys in the car and you'll probably forget them there if you don't turn around and get them....but I put it off and thought..... Oh I will get my keys later...neglect, neglect.....later never came until 1:30 am.  And the lights, well I knew about those too. Trying to listen to that voice takes a lot of practice and discipline but well worth the effort in the long run.

Sometimes I do it and other times I am lazy or neglectful, but I learn more when I don't and God shows me that I don't than when I do and don't realize it was his voice I obeyed.  Do you get that?

Let me explain it this way.... We can take God's voice for granted when everything is going well and not realize God is talking to us....it is when we know what we should have done because we had that "gut" feeling or "something told you" but you didn't do it and something went wrong that caused you to say "I knew I shouldn't or should have done that" That is when we can see God more clearly and see that he speaks to us.
What we should be doing is listening to that voice and knowing that we are obeying it at all times but in our humanness we think about ourselves a lot and our own agenda and so we sometimes can miss or ignore hearing the great voice of God.

The apple shape and what to wear

An apple shape holds their weight around the middle and those of you who are apple shaped you know that sucks!! and you know that binge eating is a no-no for you as it goes fast right to your middle BUT you can still dress right even though that’s the case. No one is perfect and it’s all about flattering what looks good and hiding those parts we don’t like so much. Even the most perfect person has things about them they don’t like!!!
You also will have your shoulders a bit broader than your hips.
Picture of apple-shaped and pear-shaped body fat distribution

The middle of your body is the biggest part and you probably have great legs. Your clothes should feature your smallest parts, which would be hips and legs, shoulders and under bust . Try to have something fitted under the bust with the bottom of the top flared. If you wear something that is not fitted under the bust you will look like you are wearing a tent.

See!!! lol

Queen Latisha is a gorgeous apple shape, dressed by my favorite designer Bradley Bayou!! As you can see she is fitted under the bust with the rest of the dress flowing down freely with nothing clinging in a lovely coral pink color that complements her skin tones.

It’s probably good for you to wear one of these. It is really important that you have a good fitting support bra. Lift the girls up and it will distinguish between your stomach and bust. You don’t want to look like you have one extra large bust or one extra large stomach, either one is not what you are after. You are after shaping the girls and hiding the belly.

great dress for an apple shaped woman, although if your stomach is very large the bodice should be just under the bust.

This is truly a great dress for you if your arms aren’t too bad and you are tall enough. If you feel you have to hide your arms then wear something in this shape with sleeves. If you are more on the short side and have great legs, Go short!! you can pull it off without looking too leggy!!

The top on the left is a good top to wear if your belly isn’t bigger than your bust
Do not wear anything tight around your middle. Pants, underwear and skirts should be loose around the middle so that it doesn’t give you love handles. Again wear good underwear!! Very important if you are overweight!!

That dress is A1 for someone that is overweight!! look for styles like that in dresses and tops!!! Secret….if the top bodice is in a light color and the bottom in a darker color..all the better!! It will draw the eyes up and slim that belly!!! Yay right!!??

these clothes are great for an apple shaped IF your belly is not a lot bigger than your bust….If it is then you need clothes that won’t cling too much, a fabric that is thicker would be best.

I spray painted everything around!!!

Hi folks, I've been spray painting :)  I've never done it before and I might have went a little crazy but it was fun!!! hehehe

I spray painted the Christmas tree stand, it was black with gold paint. Didn't match my new decor.
I have since taken this picture, primed my old chest you see at the right...it was a mess, it belonged to my great grandmother I believe and I've moved a few times and have been dragging it with me everywhere. I had it in my father-in-law's barn for a few years and thought it would be a great thing to put wood in for our wood stove that we have in the living room...but it doesn't match my decor so I have to paint it. I've decided to paint it black on the bottom trim and the legs also black. The body I will paint white with a black pattern of some kind and then the top I will upholster it with fabric to make a settee. No one will ever know that it holds wood. :)  Yes I'll post pictures when it's done :)

PS. disregard my shelf decor as I just put random things in there until I decide what I'm putting in there. I'm thinking of making cute little sparkly miniature houses.
Notice the headless figure? It's from my beautiful nativity set and a lot of the pieces were broken when I brought them in from storage. I wonder if the cold broke them because it wasn't banged around and it was well packed in foam?

This little tricycle was outdoors in my garden rusting up pretty good, so before it falls apart I thought I'd bring it in so I gave it a good spray of silver paint and I think it looks fabulous!! I love it!!! I had one of those ugly plastic Terracotta pot and I spray painted it silver and put it in the basket, filled the pot with some pine cones and Christmas balls and voila, lovely decorations that go well in my living room and free at that...already had the paint!

I love my dollar store finds!! faith, love and hope!! Out of these words,do you know which one is the most important to have?

Spray painted my wreath silver and the old flowers and some pine cones too!!!

I am going to spray paint this in black

These are lamps I spray painted in silver, they were brown before I've also since this picture spray painted the lamp shades in black (used almost a whole can of pain for 2 medium lamp shades, inside and out) but I'm not sure if I will stop there or not. I may do the trim in lime green....I think it might look cool.

This was a ceramic face I bought years ago and never painted it so I spray painted it in silver.

This was a glossy cream color and I spray painted it silver, I didn't even think it would stay on there but it did!
Spray painted my beige flowers silver.
Some Christmas decor I whipped up....large glass bowl and a small glass bowl turned upside down, candle in the middle and add your favorite decor...easy peasy :)

My nativity set....I probably would have painted these silver too but I ran out of paint! lol

Christmas decor

So there you have it, I painted everything I could get my hands on and made it the color I wanted.
Saved a whole lot of money with not having to go buy everything new to match my decor! Love that!!
Have a great day everyone!! :)

I'm making wreaths and snow balls

Hi guys, I've been busy being sick :( and making wreaths, snow balls and Christmas decorating in between the being sick. :) Fibromyalgia and arthritis is giving me a kick in the "you know where" this fall!!! Geesh!!! I have pain everywhere!!! I've talked to others with this condition and it is the same for them. Holding on for dear life so I don't drown in this pain!!! But other than that, I'm singing Christmas songs...I have the spirit this year and I've started decorating my house early. I have 3 Christmas trees up, not all decorated yet but they are up there. Just doing it a little at a time.  I've got a large one and a medium size one and a little wee one. Just right for Goldilocks!!! lol

I had made a nice wreath made of Christmas balls and I hung it on a nail on the wall. Got awoken by a loud crash in the living room. It had slipped off the nail and fell to the floor and all the 75 balls were all over the living room, scared my cat Kalie who was sleeping right next to it!!!. SO I thought I could glue it back together with my glue gun BUT it seems the glue isn't sticking to the glue that's already on the balls and it is very unstable, SO I went and bought more balls and I'm going to make some more wreaths!
I made snow balls out of tissue paper....actually they were supposed to be flowers but they look so wintery and fluffy like a snow ball, so that's what I'm calling them, snow balls....pictures to come soon. :>)

Have a great day!!
Lee Anne

P.S. also working on a top :)

If you see Judy tell her...

Song is called "When it comes my turn" by David Myles and Alan Jeffries on guitar

I'mma gettin' old, but I'm not old yet!!! lol... Yes folks...it's true, the years are creeping up on me and I'm to that point where I can't see!! sigh....that will teach me for judging Oprah!!! Let me explain what I mean. Oprah had a show where she was talking about her reading glasses and she said she had 20 pairs!! 20!!! Like do you need 20 pairs of glasses?? I thought she was just being frivolous, well I was wrong! Sorry Oprah!! I would need a pair everywhere I go!!! One were I sew, one in the car, one at the computer, one in every room because I can't keep them on my head, they slide off every time I bend over. I don't want to age myself by wearing them around my neck constantly (vain) and so you see, I would need 20 pairs but so far I've only got three and I want more! I could have one in all my coat pockets so when I go get some groceries I can see what the heck I'm buying!!! hahaha.

My black glasses

My purple glasses

My red glasses, well I don't know where they are....so you see that's why I need more because I keep losing them....and that also comes with age....you see, I'm not worried that I might forget like the song says...I'm already there and with Fibromyaliga it's already been going on for a long time and so now I'm well use to it!! haha

This morning I went to a lady's house to return something that I had of hers and I found her and her husband outside in the yard working. It was definitely a great day to be outside. The sun was bright and warm with little wind. While Judy and her husband and I stood there talking I was looking at her face marveling(my mind tends to go everywhere) and actually had a tinge of jealousy of how little wrinkles she had for her age, I was actually thinking it wasn't fair that I had more wrinkles than she had at my age. At the same time I was thinking how much I liked to be around her. She has such a quiet gentleness about her and she speaks very kindly and always has a smile. It's so easy to talk to her. The conversation turned to gardening and then Christmas and her grandson and I asked her how many children she had and she said "I only have a son but you probably wouldn't know him, he's 37, he's way too old for you." meaning we didn't grow up at the same time,  and then she said something else after that and I grabbed her hands and stopped her from talking and I said "could you back up there...What did you say???" I asked grinning from ear to ear and she said something and I said, "no before that".... and she repeated what she had said..... Well I was totally tickled pink!!! I had heard her right, she had said that I was  way younger than her son who was 37!!! That made my day....I said "you are wayyyyyy off, guess how old I am?"  They looked at each other and smiled and said "we have no idea but we thought you were younger than Stephan" I told them "I'm 47 this March!!" They couldn't believe it and told me I was well preserved!! LOL  I think it's one of the best compliments I've had in my life!! hahaha
It just goes to show you how we don't see ourselves the way other people do. I look in the mirror sometimes and think I look 70 years old! but someone else thinks I look 30. I bet Judy wouldn't even think of herself as I see her so If you know a lady named Judy that has a son named Stephan that is 37 years old. Tell her and her husband what  great and wonderful people they are so that it will bless them just as they blessed me today!!!

have a lovely day everyone and I hope you can see better than I can, hehehe!!!

Sorry if I have any spelling mistakes!!! I seem to make a lot of them!!!

Remembrance – A hymn for Remembrance Sunday
Words – Charles Henrywood

May be sung to the music – Finlandia by Jean Sibelius

Grant peace, O Lord, across our strife-torn world,
Where war divides and greed and dogma drive.
Help us to learn the lessons from the past,
That all are human and all pay the price.
All life is dear and should be treated so;
Joined, not divided, is the way to go.

Protect, dear Lord, all who, on our behalf,
Now take the steps that place them in harm's way.
May they find courage for each task they face
By knowing they are in our thoughts always.
Then, duty done and missions at an end,
Return them safe to family and friends.

Grant rest, O Lord, to those no longer with us;
Who died protecting us and this their land.
Bring healing, Lord, to those who, through their service,
Bear conflict’s scars on body or in mind.
With those who mourn support and comfort share.
Give strength to those who for hurt loved-ones care.

And some there be who no memorial have;
Who perished are as though they’d never been.
For our tomorrows their today they gave,
And simply asked that in our hearts they'd live.
We heed their call and pledge ourselves again,
At dusk and dawn - we will remember them!

Voice:
At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

ALL SAY
We will remember them

Remember Me
(The voice of the dead

Remember me
Duty called and I went to war
Though I'd never fired a gun before
I paid the price for your new day
As all my dreams were blown away

Remember me
We all stood true as whistles blew
And faced the shell and stench of Hell
Now battle's done, there is no sound
Our bones decay beneath the ground
We cannot see, or smell, or hear
There is no death, or hope or fear

Remember me
Once we, like you, would laugh and talk
And run and walk and do the things that you all do
But now we lie in rows so neat
Beneath the soil, beneath your feet

Remember me
In mud and gore and the blood of war
We fought and fell and move no more
Remember me, I am not dead
I'm just a voice within your head
Harry Riley

Let us not forget the lives that were lost for our freedom, but let us be thankful, not because their lives were lost but because good came out of a bad thing.

My Coat of Many Colors

Made my own pattern for my pre navy jacket
image

This is a jacket I made for a pattern from old fabric that I had on hand in like forever...I never expected
It to look good enough to wear when I made it but it turned out to be a great fall jacket and
I've had a lot of compliments on it everywhere I go. :)
image
image
My pattern trial jacket in Navy.
Now from this pattern, the paper one I made. I tweaked it until I got exactly what I wanted.
I made the sleeves a bit more fitted at the wrist in my "real jacket".
I made it slightly shorter in front and longer in back.
I didn't make a belt although I still may later.
I made the pockets deeper.
I used different fabrics for different pieces
I added a hood
I changed the lapel

Ta da!!! I've finally finished my jacket and took pictures of it!!! I had took pictures of it before
But I hated them so I took more and I like these a lot better, so much so that I didn't know
Which ones to choose to put on here...so I posted a lot of them, hope you don't mind!!
          image

The black fabric is fabric I found at French's (Used clothing store) and the
Pink and white fabric is fabric that I had got to make a quilt and hadn't used yet.
The plain white and pink fabric also
 image
I quilted the pink and white fabric with black thread. The jacket is lined with
A thick and sturdy quilting fabric, not the cheap kind but a good quality one.
I then put a binding on the collar and front edge of the jacket.
image
I also quilted all the black with white polka dots.
image

The jacket has princess seams with pocket inserts in them. I got the idea for the pockets from
My threads magazine November 2000. I am doing really good using the ideas from my magazines!!!
I have lots more to go through and make things from them.

The side welt pocket idea. I made mine a bit different

   image
I used the quilting ideas from this

And this

image
I strip pieced the back with all the different fabrics I had on hand and
I added a hood. I wasn't sure if I should add the hood but I am really glad
I did!!!

  image
The light pink and dark pink woven plaid fabric is fabric that I bought at Fabricville last
Year but never made anything with it.
image
The sleeves are not quilted but they are pieced with white on the inside.
   image
The pockets go all the way down to the bottom of the jacket. Very comfy and
Warm since it is all lined inside too.

The back of the jacket is longer and shaped. There is also a pleat there
Although it is hard to see in pictures.

I made the lapel so that is a bit asymmetrical.

That’s it folks!! All in all I am pretty happy with how it turned out. It should keep me warm this winter.
My critical eye sees things I could have done better….maybe with the next jacket! Smile
Thanks for looking, hope you liked it!!!
